All fires are prohibited from 15 December to the 14 March.
Burning Permits are normally required for the following periods:
2 November to 14 December each year inclusive and 1 March to 12 May each year inclusive. This is known as the Restricted Season. NOTE: The Restricted Season has been extended in 2017 to 26 May and may be extended further.
Depending on circumstances, these dates may be extended, so confirm with the City of Busselton or the local Fire Control Officer. For more information from the City of Busselton click: here
During the Restricted Season it is necessary to get a fire permit from your local Fire Control Officer:

Permit holders must give notice of his/her intention to burn to:
- the City of Busselton Ranger and Fire Services office on the day when the burning is to take place,
- the owner or occupier of adjoining land and
- the Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW)) if located within 3km of State Forest or National Park.
The permit holder must be in possession of the permit during the burn.
Burning on Sundays during the Restricted Season is prohibited.
